A group of scientists and euthusiasts are collaborating with IUCN, The World Conservation Union. They have started a rescue programme to save the plant. For every Hawaiian palm sold a donation is made to IUCN to supports its work in the conservation of Brighamia and other threatened species in the Hawaiian Islands.
