Water Water Everywhere

plants for wet soil

You could plant trees and shrubs around the perimeter of the lawn which enjoy damp soil, such as Cornus or Salix (Dogwoods or Willows - shrub-sized, not the tree variety!). These plants would help to absorb some of the moisture. Steer clear of plants with a 'Mediterranean' or silver-leaved appearance; these plants do not enjoy wet clay!
