The
garden before:
Behind
a traditional red brick Victorian house lays this surprisingly quiet
south-facing walled garden.
Accessed
either via a wrought iron gate from the drive or from the back of
the house, the previous garden was blocked from view behind a low
brick wall.
It
had the typical straight path running the length of the garden,
making it look quite long and narrow, and most the garden was laid
to lawn with narrow borders running along each side.
There
was a very small terraced area in poor condition.

The
brief:
To
create a garden with a more interesting shape, that would be easy
to maintain and with plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining
in.
