Seating
Provide
a variety of comfortable places in the garden for family and guests
to sit down and chat; you'll see a wide selection of garden furniture
in our shop.
Visitors
will stroll round the garden if a path leads to another place to
rest, and this means that you can show off your plants at the same
time!
Pergolas
with benches underneath combine somewhere to sit with the opportunity
for growing scented climbers such as Honeysuckle (Lonicera).
If
space is at a premium on the patio, invest in a bench which opens
out into a picnic table with bench seats when needed, so that the
rest of the time you don't have a table taking up room.
Make
sure that raised beds have walls big enough to perch on when space
is at a premium, or that raised decking areas have edges which can
double as seats - these can be made even more useful by having lift-up
lids, so that they double up for storage.
Consider
purchasing a small fabric gazebo which can be erected for parties,
allowing you to cover an area with table and chairs underneath -
it's amazing how much warmer you'll be as the night progresses.
Or
invest in a patio heater.
