Round
and About
Large
patios can be a bit visually overwhelming, so 'break up' that expanse
of slabs by inserting a strategically placed circle!
Think
about including one immediately outside the patio doors - don't
put it where you intend to place a table and chairs, though, because
you won't be able to see it!
Especially
appealing is a round, raised level which adds interest to your garden
at a different height. Alternatively, install a semi-circle within
the border as the base for a bench from which to enjoy summer scents.
Repeat
the theme at the other end of the garden by installing a second
circle to provide a further sitting area, perhaps to take advantage
of the evening sun.
Using
the curved segments which make up these circles, it's easy to create
a meandering path linking this to the main patio.
Think
about using an outer ring of slabs to create the outline for a herb
garden, or position a stone planter, sundial or water feature in
the centre. Outer rings also make great pond edges!
